ALBUM MP3 DOWNLOADS : Mutch says that the forms of live performance are dead. Thisis a rather odd thing to say in view of such events as musicconcerts, festivals, and raves, and of massive religiousperformances. These are not productions of wealthy elites inbig cities, but of the people in general. In the realm of the plastic arts, there is as yet no sort ofreadily available digital art which is comparable to sculpture, painting, drawing, and the like. Without extremely expensiveequipment, digital art can be viewed only on a computer screen,a television, or printed in a magazine. Except for the saidwealthy elites, then, it is on the same level of physicalpresence as a print, a magazine illustration, or a home movieregardless of its uniqueness or originality. To say that inits present form it will displace the materially presentplastic arts is analogous to saying (as some once did) thatphotography would entirely replace painting and drawing. Itseems like a misunderstanding of what art is about.
ALBUM MP3 DOWNLOADS : It seems much more likely that, as with other new media, digital art will become a parallel channel for artistic workof its own kind, influencing, rather than obsoleting, theolder forms.[I don't see how you can accuse digital art as a whole of being"textureless". What do you mean by that? Are you talking about the smoothsurface of inkjet prints as opposed to an oil impasto? Or the lack oftexture in art viewed through a monitor? The problem addressed in this article (which was short and pretty much tothe point) was how to reclaim art from its "dinosaur" status, to which ithas been relegated by newer mass-marketable artforms that don't rely onuniqueness to give them worth. While it may be comforting to own a uniqueart object, most people have learned to live without this form of comfort, and spend their money on replicated types of art (movies, music, books)instead, leaving artists wedded to the production of unique objects high anddry.] ALBUM MP3 DOWNLOADS : [I didn't see much room for hope here either. Instead of visual art gettinga place at the table, it seems more like the other arts will get the sametreatment that it has got heretofore. MP3 downloads have hollowed out themusic industry, and it's just a matter of time before this happens withfilms and books as well. Digitizable information, which broadly consideredincludes content-types like visual art, is something that is gettingcheaper and cheaper, and for which people are expecting to pay less andless. In this atmosphere, I'm not forseeing a big market in digital imagessaving many artists from starvation.]exactly.... my digital work relies upon the illusion of texture... .I dunno.... Artists can nick methods of distribution from other media....after all no one turns their nose up at an album becuase they are not beingoffered the master tapes of the recording, or the 'original' ... why can'tartists sell their prints that way, . Art should be in peoples homes, inpeoples lives.... and the (rightful) high prices of non reproductable worklike paintings acts as an economic barrier to this, with the digital and itsinfinite reproductableness can get around this. ALBUM MP3 DOWNLOADS : I have downloaded about 1000 mp3 files in the last 3 months or so.When I play them back in Media Player 9 only about 5 or so have displayed the album thumbnail picture in the display pane whilst all the others only display the default crochet. Why is this and is it possible to have a thumbnail for all and every mp3 downloaded? In anticipation of your reply. ThanksMedia PLayer detects information for the album whilst connected to theinternet. the information is provided by AMG. If it does not automaticallydetect the information then right click on the track and click find albuminfo - depending on the tags the originator has added to the file you mayneed to edit the track title etc yourself for it to detect it.Hi !I have the same problem as Paul...My question is : How can we save the thumbnail in the media library once we got them while connected to the internet ? It would be great that it remains even when we are no more connected... ALBUM MP3 DOWNLOADS : I posted a while back asking for a SUCKBEST feature that would somehowhelp manage downloaded files. If you use Agent you know what I mean, you can end up with a huge download directory full of songs that aresimply named like 01_songnamex.mp3 and 01_songnamey.mp301_songnamez.mp3 etc. This gets to be a problem when you havedownloaded many albums and have to go back and figure out what album01_songnamex.mp3 belongs too.Yes Agent can save files with the subject line as filename, but thisleads to a lot of renaming afterwards. Or you can save theconventional way then in explorer, sort by date, but here you stillhave to go back into Agent and find at least one song in the group offiles and figure out what album it belongs to, problems can also ariseif for instance you sort your headers in agent by date before startingto download so that you don't miss articles that are old, when you dothis the date sort method in explorer doesn't always group files byalbum.
